An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Banten area, Sunday (9/10/2022) afternoon. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) informed that the earthquake occurred in Banten precisely at 26 km Southwest of Bayah, Banten (Coordinates: 7.09 LS-106.08 BT), with a depth of 12 km.
Icha, a resident in Cisauk, South Tangerang, admitted that he felt the earthquake. Likewise David, a resident in West Jakarta, revealed that the earthquake was felt for up to 10 seconds. "Yes, it was an earthquake just now, it was really strong. Yes, kerasa," said one bayah resident named Erwin to detikcom, Sunday (9/10/2022).
He claimed the earthquake was only a matter of seconds. Residents also panicked and scattered out of their homes. "Kerasa, had panicked and left the house," he said.
